The whole experience from the planning of the hunt in 2003 to the actual hunt itself was handled in a most professional manner imaginable. From the pick up at the airport and clearance of the guns to the quality of the animals both seen and harvested were beyond my wildest dreams. The after care given to each trophy was also performed with the highest quality. The staff of Somerby were wonderful and fun to be around. The accommodations were first rate as well. The tiger fishing and trip to Kruger Nat. Park was wonderful as well. Looking forward to a 2012 return trip!

My husband knew that he wanted to go on safari in South Africa and we choose Somerby Safaris. I was somewhat apprehensive about South Africa because I was worried about what I would be doing during the time my husband spent hunting, the illusion of rustic accommodations, insects and strange food. In the end our trip was absolutely wonderful!! From the personal care, guidance, beautiful accommodations, opportunities given to explore, and incredible generosity of heart from Drom and Sune we fell in love with South Africa. As a woman I would recommend this outfitter because of all the personal care, and willingness to provide any opportunity that I wanted to explore. This is a very professional group of people. They were there to assist us thru customs and facilitated our arrival in every possible way. Drom and his staff have a great deal of experience and it shows in the way they conduct their business. Accommodations were excellent as was the food and service.
Most importantly, they know the game and how to find it. They were able to locate the animals and without fail put the hunter into a position to make a clean kill.
In my opinion, your hunting companions are what ultimately make a safari memorable. My friend, Ron Wheeler and I both agreed that this trip was our best to date. We have hunted and fished together for over thirty years, and have been on many very good trips, both guided and on our own. This one is now at the top of our list. We should be more than happy to discuss our trip and the great people at Somerby Safaris.
We will be returning in early May of 2010, accompanied by our better halves. We know that it will be another great adventure.

I have hunted on 5 continents and nothing compares to the trip in May of 2009 with Somerby Safaris. I will say that one should not expect to lose any weight; they feed you very well and often. The food is excellent as are the accommodations.Not once did I hear anyone say,"should have been here last week". If you wanted a specific trophy, they would find it, no excuses. I would also like to praise the high level of professional service the entire team provided along with a great sense of humor. I recommend Somerby Safaris, as we have already booked for next May 2010. This trip will be with our Ladies.
